  The Journey of J-E

I would like to thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I hope in the near future I will get the same opportunity.

My career in I.T. began as I became a student programmer in Cairns. I was unsure of where I would fit in although I knew that IT development was where my career path pointed. After completing my degree, I moved to Brisbane and worked for a small store as a salesman. I was desperate and took the only job I could as long as it was in the right industry. One day, someone came in and asked me if I could recommend a programmer for his company. I volunteered and subsequently sold copies of my software to B&D Roller door distributors Australia wide.

I continued programming contracts for various small businesses

Naturally, the next step in the process was to enhance the skill I had already acquired. So I began a Master course in Visual Basic programming and reached a level of certification attained by only a small handful of people in Australia.

I got the phone call I had hoped for when Suncorp took me on board as a software developer catering for the Y2K bug.

I worked at Suncorp for about a year before I realised that writing reports and analysing current software syntax was not my idea of creativity. I quit.

I formed a company and hired an agent to get 6 monthly contracts within the corporate community and for the next 4 years my company soared contracting with QR and Duke Energy. It was definately the boom time to be in this industry.

During this time I was asked to create the online timetable for QR. It was my first foray into prgramming for the web. My experience as a programmer made it easy for me and it was a thouroughly enjoyable experience.

Programming websites opened up a whole new area of creativity for me. For the first time I was able to explore methods of communicating with graphics, intuitive navigational techniques, multi-lingual syntax and solution technologies I had only hoped for until now.

My software company gained contracts in larger and larger corporate enterprises until about 1999 when I had purchased most of the material things I had ever wished for. I had a house, new BMW, shares and money in the bank.

I signed off with Duke after delivering the final project and cleaned up some loose ends. I sold my company and took off over seas with my new wife.

Now, after travelling and thoroughly living it up I have decided to settle in Byron Bay. One of the reasons is the attitude of the people here. It is warm and friendly, with a tolerance for the eccentric.

I like it here and so does my family.

My objective in this business is to provide cost effective (read cheap) I.T solutions to selected clients in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. The reason I do this is beacuse I believe the majority of I.T. professionals don't make it easy for the small business person to get a good deal. I have made my money from the industry and now I want to feel good about it.

Basically, this is where my story begins. Shortly after I arrived in Byron Bay, I began this website. My circle of resources has grown as well as my client base. I hope that you will trust me to handle your project in the future and give me the opportunity to welcome you into my circle.

The Internet is the way of the future and the way business will run, with millions of personal web sites as directories sharing their lives with other people through the Internet utilizing web sites.

We all know of many people who spend hours on the Internet checking out businesses and services when they are thinking of making a purchase or hiring a professional. Doing this not only saves them the time and frustration of trying to find these services some other way but it also offers them a degree of familiarity with that business or service and they tend to feel more comfortable doing business with them because of this. Knowledge is power, and the more we feel that we know about someone or some business or service, the more comfortable we feel with them.

The biggest frustration that businesses have today with their web sites is that "no one is finding them!" This is a major problem and will become more serious every month as sources tell us that not only are there 100,000 plus new Internet users a month but there are millions of new web sites a year being added to the Internet.
